BREAKING: Disunited, Kogi University Students Protest Amidst Police Arrests.

A section of the embattled students of the Kogi University, Anyigba, have once again embarked on a protest to get the attention of the state government and good spirited Nigerians to the plight.

The students, who are protesting the closure of their institution, which has so far spanned three months, are all over the state capital, complaining about the insensitivity of the government to their plight.

However, the students are not united in the common fight for the re-opening of their school as a section, led by Anthony Edogbo, the former Vice President, which claimed to be the authentic students’ union leader, having allegedly impeached the elected government led by Mr. Philips Omepa

In reaction however, Mr. Omepa, the supposedly impeached president, has said that the ongoing protest is illegal, as a more legal protest is billed to take place on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Consequently, students of the institution, whose only interest is to return to school, are currently confused over who the authentic leader to pitch their tenth with.

The brouhaha has created an atmosphere where allegations and counter allegations are being peddled including the involvement of the outspoken Senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Mr. Dino Melaye and a local government chairman, Hon. Toafeek Isa, who doubles as the ALGON chairman.

According to a student of the Theatre Arts Department of the institution, who is in his final year, Mr. Salifu Peter Ogohi, the students are tired and frustrated with the things are going, and just want to return to school.

“We are not interested on who is the leader; all we want is to go back to school. My joy is that the students are willing to be heard with or without any SUB exco,” he said.

The protest which at started at Natako Junction is fast spreading through the entire city.
